It didn’t start in a fine arts academy. It all started in a small bedroom.
At 14, ÜMBERTÖ was drawing everywhere: walls, ceilings, over the posters and his clothes.
His room had become the Sistine Chapel vandalized by a punk teenager.

At 18 years old, ÜMBERTÖ EVANGELISTÄ registered for VAT as a “painter and sculptor”, bought a 1971 Volkswagen Bulli to transport artworks, and rented a workshop. That’s how his first version of a mobile studio was born.

But painting and doing exhibitions wasn’t enough.

Founder of the crossover band NOSEX — singer, performer, DJ, cultural organizer.
ÜMBERTÖ lived through the ’90s like a knife carving across multiple surfaces.
He created art circles, appeared on TV shows (VideoMusic), exhibited as a cyberpunk artist, hosted radio shows in Bologna, played vinyls with TECHNICS 1200, and sang through distorted megaphones. He experimented with everything he could.

At 25 years old, he created ZOO ANIMAL SOUND.
A visionary venue that grew from a small ARCI club into one of the largest live clubs in Italy:
a fixed stage for 2,500 people, a skate ramp, suspended bus as DJ booth, post-industrial scenography in Blade Runner style.

Bands that played there: Stone Sour (Slipknot), Henry Rollins, Asian Dub Foundation, Biohazard, Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Dog Eat Dog, Subsonica, Afterhours, Caparezza, Elisa, Morgan, J-AX, etc.
At the decks: all the big names in the Italian and international house scene.
ZOO Animal sound had regular sponsors like SLAM JAM, CARHARTT, STUSSY.

ÜMBERTÖ is not an entrepreneur. He’s the inventor of a vision, he’s a DJ. The stage of his club, to him, was art.

In 2005 he “voluntarily” shuts down the ZOO. Takes a sabbatical year. Decides to start from scratch.

ÜMBERTÖ becomes a designer. A graphic artist. A communication director. A professional creative. Signs 3D projects for architecture firms and major brands. Collaborates with Giò Pagani, now one of the top Italian interior designers.

ÜMBERTÖ later designs villas in Switzerland and prototypes 18 models of contemporary luxury homes.

During this long period, he chooses invisibility: works for 10 years as communication and marketing director for a major Italian company. He learned from the inside. Observes. Absorbs everything he can.

Meanwhile, ZOO ANIMAL SOUND kept living (still under his artistic direction + DJ ÜMB).
In Ferrara, through special events, collaborations with Monsterland Festival, formats drawing 15,000 people, historic resident DJs, thousands of followers, nights still packed with people dancing to RÖCK and organizes live concerts.

In 2023, ÜMBERTÖ becomes himself again “a punk teenager” but with an amplified radical vision. He carries the past with him, but aims straight at the future.

With a black VAN as a mobile studio, he uses unconventional industrial materials, develops new painting techniques, and he documents every step of his creative process with photos and videos.
Each artwork is unique, created live, ready to be collected.

Today, he’s not looking for spaces.
He doesn’t ask for permission to enter the art system. HE BUILDS IT.
He’s not waiting for approval or recognition.
He acts. He creates. He signs. He burns. He exhibits. He sells.

A collector doesn’t just buy a painting.They enter his path. Own a fragment of him.
An artist is not measured by likes — but by kilometers travelled, fires lit, and visions manifested.
